2018 | Typography

In this project I was asked to design a modular typeface that would be later used on a poster to promote the Spring 2018 School of Architecture Lecture Series.

I developed Flow, a modular typeface that uses arcs to as the modular component on a 2 x 3 grid. The concept and name of the typeface is derived from the “flow” of writing that character.

Example of how the modular grid was used to create the letter ‘F’:

The typeface was then used in a poster and video for the lecture series. The video also emphasizes how the letters would behave if they were able to move and flow as they are written. The blue in the image and in the video was taken from a color palette I created from the architecture buildings on campus.
